Samuel Hand, Co-Owner and Creative Director

Samuel is a Boise-based DP and director, originally hailing from North Carolina. He kicked off his career in “Hollywood East” (Wilmington, NC) and, through direct-to-client and agency partnerships, has had the opportunity to shoot exciting projects all over the US and worldwide.

If you’re looking for a videographer in Boise, consider Samuel. He loves partnering directly with small businesses and entrepreneurs, and brings expertise to the table honed by working on campaigns for clients like Honda and UNC Chapel Hill.

“My parents are responsible for giving me the videography bug… they gave me this little Olympus camera when I was 10, and I completely fell in love. My brothers and I used to make ‘movies’ in the back yard… I never imagined where video would take me.”

Why “Phalanx”?

We believe that quality media should be a given when you hire a production company. What sets Phalanx Film Co. apart is our ability to embed the essence of a brand into its media, crafting compelling stories which resonate deeply with the target audience, leading to action. These are what we call Stories That Sell™.

Phalanx Film Co. is named after the Macedonian phalanx, a battle formation used by the ancient Greeks. The phalanx is named for Philip II of Macedon, and was later employed extensively by his more famous son, Alexander The Great, to conquer most of the ancient world. We don't condone violence or the conquest of other people, but we believe that modern-day advertising and media campaigns should be approached with the same kind of innovative, strategic thinking that Alexander used in his military campaigns 2,300 years ago.
